Via Press Release:
Royal Ballet Principal Edward Watson plays Gregor Samsa in the world premiere of this innovative dance-theatre adaptation of Franz Kafka’s novella of the absurd. Commissioned by ROH2, the story follows a travelling salesman who awakes to discover that he has been transformed into a giant insect. Gregor Samsa’s horrifying nightmare is brought to life by the distinctive theatrical style of award-winning director and choreographer Arthur Pita, composer Frank Moon and an eclectic cast. Designed by Simon Daw and with lighting by Guy Hoare, the Linbury Studio Theatre is altered to provide an intimate, surreal and doom-laden Kafkaesque experience.
Arthur Pita works internationally as a freelance choreographer in opera, musicals, theatre and commissions for dance companies. His work has been brought to venues such as Royal National Theatre, Sadler’s Wells, The Young Vic, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Opera House, Los Angeles Opera, Israeli Opera and Lithuanian Opera including others. Recent works include God’s Garden, an Open Heart production co-commissioned by ROH2 and DanceEast in the Linbury Studio Theatre, Mischief (TMA Award) with Theatre Rites and Street Scene (Best Musical Evening Standard Award).
The Metamorphosis runs at the Linbury Studio Theatre, Royal Opera House from 19 to 24 September 2011. For more information and tickets, visit the ROH website .

This looks really cool! It’ll be interesting to see how the story translates to a Ballet, and I’m sure Ed will be absolutely awesome in it
