It will be the first staging of this new Don Q. and we’ll be on site bringing you all the action: we’re teaming up with one of our favorite contributors, Dave Tries Ballet, to take over The Royal Opera House’s Twitter feed, tweeting backstage insights into what it takes to stage a new ballet production, as well as reactions from the audience at Covent Garden.

In short, we hope to make the coverage as epic as the world premiere of Alice in Wonderland’s!

Follow the action on the day through the @RoyalOperaHouse Twitter feed and the hashtag #ROHdonQ. Ah, and do jeté over to their Instagram from time to time for some exclusive shots!

We started The Ballet Bag in April 2009 with the mission to prove that ballet is not stuffy, old fashioned and inaccessible; that it is quite the opposite: relevant, fresh and topical. With the aim to Give Ballet a New Spin we try to show it under a different light. When writing our capsule biographies, ballet fact cards, review roundups and commentary on social media, we cross it over with other art forms and cultural references (pop culture, cinema, rock music – ie. other things we love!).
