Winter Dance in London: a Photo Gallery

Marianela Núñez and Nehemiah Kish in Aeternum

London’s thriving dance scene has given Alice Pennefather lots of opportunities for amazing shots this season, and here we feature a special selection of her contemporary dance photos. They include shots from See the Music, Hear the Dance, a programme that showcased works by Crystal Pite, Wayne McGregor, Karole Armitage and Alexander Whitley at Sadler’s Wells, then Ludovic Ondiviela’s new Cassandra, and finally two homages to composer Benjamin Britten, as recently seen on the Royal Opera House’s main stage, Ceremony of Innocence (Brandstrup) and Aeternum (Wheeldon):

Alice’s creative talents lie in image making. After studying photography at Falmouth College of Arts, she spent 6 years travelling and working abroad, focusing on scuba diving and filming underwater. She has recently returned to London and rediscovered her love of everything Ballet. Alice now works as a freelance photographer, and is a regular at the Royal Ballet General Rehearsals – photographing for us here at The Ballet Bag.
