Backstage with the Dryads

Last week, Alice Pennefather dropped by the Royal Ballet’s general rehearsal of Don Quixote to photograph Carlos Acosta’s production from front and backstage. While we have saved her production images for later, here we have selected some of her special shots from behind the scenes, featuring those candy-coloured, pretty-pastel, gorgeous Dryads tutus:

The Royal Ballet’s Don Quixote runs until 22 January 2015. For more information and booking, visit the ROH website.

Alice’s creative talents lie in image making. After studying photography at Falmouth College of Arts, she spent 6 years travelling and working abroad, focusing on scuba diving and filming underwater. She has recently returned to London and rediscovered her love of everything Ballet. Alice now works as a freelance photographer, and is a regular at the Royal Ballet General Rehearsals – photographing for us here at The Ballet Bag. Nicola

5 minutes left before going on-stage.
Time for the last strechtings and mental rehearsals.
    Beautiful pictures of beautiful ‘danseuses”.
