Spring Dance in London: a Photo Gallery

Featured below is a selection of previously unpublished pictures, taken by Alice Pennefather during the Royal Ballet’s 2015 spring season (mainly triple bills) and the company’s Draft Works run at the Linbury Theatre. They include MacMillan’s Song of the Earth, a piece that the Royal Ballet will be performing in New York this week, and some shots from Joshua Beamish’s Burrow, a duet for Royal Ballet dancers Matthew Ball and Nicol Edmonds, which is also scheduled to be presented in NY this summer during the Joyce Theater’s Ballet Festival. Last but not least, Alice also had the opportunity to capture the exquisite Diana Vishneva during her contemporary season at the London Coliseum back in April.

Alice’s creative talents lie in image making. After studying photography at Falmouth College of Arts, she spent 6 years travelling and working abroad, focusing on scuba diving and filming underwater. She has recently returned to London and rediscovered her love of everything Ballet. Alice now works as a freelance photographer, and is a regular at the Royal Ballet General Rehearsals – photographing for us here at The Ballet Bag.
