Cinderella at Dutch National Ballet: a Photo Gallery

Anna Tsygankova and Artists of Dutch National Ballet in Cinderella

Dutch National Ballet is finally back in town! We had been missing the company since its last visit in 2011, with an all-Hans Van Manen programme. This time, DNB is bringing its critically-acclaimed production of Cinderella, with choreography by Christopher Wheeldon, plus gorgeous sets and costumes by designer Julian Crouch.

Having been kindly invited by the company and Sadler’s Wells to snap a few behind-the-scenes shots (which we have also been posting to Instagram), while Alice Pennefather captured the 2 different casts appearing at the general rehearsal (Anna Tsygankova and Matthew Golding, Maia Makhateli and Artur Shesterikov), we can vouch that this Cinderella is indeed a feast for the eyes:

Dutch National Ballet’s Cinderella continues at the London Coliseum until Saturday, 11 July 2015. For more information & to book tickets, visit the ENO website.

We started The Ballet Bag in April 2009 with the mission to prove that ballet is not stuffy, old fashioned and inaccessible; that it is quite the opposite: relevant, fresh and topical. With the aim to Give Ballet a New Spin we try to show it under a different light. When writing our capsule biographies, ballet fact cards, review roundups and commentary on social media, we cross it over with other art forms and cultural references (pop culture, cinema, rock music – ie. other things we love!).
