The Royal Ballet’s Giselle: A Photo Gallery II

Natalia Osipova as Giselle and Matthew Golding as Albrecht

Going, going… Next week we have this season’s only opportunity to see Natalia Osipova take on one of her definitive roles at the Royal Ballet, assuming she will be returning from a recent injury in time to appear in Sir Peter Wright’s production of Giselle (having withdrawn from 2 previous performances). But don’t worry if you can’t be at the Royal Opera House on 29 March: you can live vicariously through Alice Pennefather’s evocative photos of the general rehearsal. Or take a peek at some Giselle-related links:

Alice’s creative talents lie in image making. After studying photography at Falmouth College of Arts, she spent 6 years travelling and working abroad, focusing on scuba diving and filming underwater. She has recently returned to London and rediscovered her love of everything Ballet. Alice now works as a freelance photographer, and is a regular at the Royal Ballet General Rehearsals – photographing for us here at The Ballet Bag.
